The key duties of the position include
The Role
The Air Combat Group (ACG) Knowledge Management & ICT Support Manager will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex to very complex knowledge management and ICT support and maintenance work within an integrated workforce. The position will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
Critical duties include:
  • Accountable for leading a team, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes
  • Plan, lead and manage the promulgation and enforcement of clear business rules and protocols
  • Accountable to ensure ACG knowledge repositories are accessible and to encourage knowledge transfer throughout ACG in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Implement processes, tools and structures with the intent to increase, renew, share and improve the use of knowledge within ACG
  • Explain complex to very complex information in relation to structured and unstructured repositories of knowledge to promote the process of air combat enterprise knowledge creation
  • Implement procedures for the maintenance of ACG knowledge management systems
  • Provide technical management to an ACG ICT function or ICT team to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and procedures
  • Plan and manage the implementation of processes and procedures to monitor the performance of ACG ICT systems and services
  • Evaluate ACG ICT projects and business objectives to understand critical factors for success, and engage in activities to achieve continuous improvement
  • Analyse ACG ICT acquisition, development and maintenance issues, applying expertise to identify and recommend courses of action to resolve problems.

About our Team
The information systems team is well established within the HQACG environment. The applicant will report to the HQACG Director of Business and Information Systems for tasking and priorities, and will be responsive to Commander ACG and Deputy Commander ACG for their equities in the knowledge management and ICT space.
An ability to work across the air combat enterprise and their associated knowledge management and ICT frameworks will be essential to provide timely advice to the relevant Wing Officers Commanding.
Our Ideal Candidate
The applicant will be a self-starter being able to work with minimal oversight. The individual will be confident in their knowledge and can apply the correct style, tone and level to be able to engage with all ACG staff of various rank levels and experience, and across multiple geographic locations.
The applicant is required to maintain a working level understanding of Information Security Manual, Protective Security Policy Framework/Defence Security Principles Framework and Defence Records Management Policy, in order to provide timely, accurate knowledge management and ICT support advice to Commander ACG, Deputy Commander ACG and Wing staff.
