About the role:

In the MST-Psych model the Crisis Case Manager takes on the bulk of the practical case management needs for the team. This is to enable the therapists to focus on carrying out the multiple, intensive clinical interventions that form the evidenced based model. Each therapist has a case load of 4 families, and the therapeutic intervention lasts for 4-7 months, averaging 6 months.

The Crisis Case Manager also assists therapists carry out interventions in the homes and communities once the therapist and family members have developed and practiced the interventions.

The position will work with therapists in situations that require a second clinician either to increase clinician safety or to help the therapist in working with families experiencing high clinical needs.

This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based across the South & the East (South Melbourne, Dandenong & Forest Hill) within our Family Preservation and Reunification (FPRR) / Clinical Services program. The position reports to the FPRR MSTP Supervisor.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Assist therapists in gathering information about resources for clients through a proactive stance of working to anticipate the need of clients and families.
  • Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the nine MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process
  • Build a relationship with community stakeholders (i.e., child protection services, schools, etc.) to ensure cooperation among service providers.

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
