About the role:

This position is situated within the Wimmera South West Home Based Care Program which is responsible for providing out of home care placements to children in the Wimmera region and ensuring all their day to day care needs are met.

The Home-Based Care Support worker will work in collaboration with the home-based care case managers to assist them in supporting the children, their carers and families with practical day to day tasks for children and young people in care as required.

The Home-Based Care Support Worker is a member of the Home-Based Care Program in Wimmera South West and reports to the Home Based Care Coordinator or Senior Case Manager as per delegation of Program Coordinator.

Working under the direction of the Senior Case Manager and/or Home-Based Care Coordinator the objective of the role is to support the Home-Based Care Program in meeting the needs of children/young people and their carer families as required.

This is a Casual opportunity based in Hamilton, VIC within our Home-Based Care Wimmera South West Program.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated genuine caring for and understanding of working with children.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with children and young people, their carers and birth families maintaining a flexible, tolerant, and non-judgmental attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with others and exercise influence in a diversity of contexts.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check;
  • Valid Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles)
