HMAS Albatross is the country's largest operational Naval establishment and the Navy's only Air Station. The primary role of HMAS Albatross is to provide air, operational, intelligence and logistics support to the fleet.
The Squadrons and the aircraft operating from Albatross include: 723 Squadron, EC135 Helicopter, 725 Squadron, MH60-R Seahawk helicopter, 822X Squadron, 808 Squadron, 816 Squadron and Aircraft Maintenance and Flight Trials Unit (AMAFTU).
Run over three days, the program will commence at 8.00am and finish at 4.00pm. Students will participate in the following activities at both HMAS Albatross and HMAS Creswell:
- Participate in Sea Survival drills
- Visits to Squadrons and Helicopter Aircrew Training School
- Visits to Training Authority Aviation (TA-AVN)
- Participate in the RAN Fitness Test
- Team Building Exercises
- Fly the Naval Aviation Prospects Scheme (NAPS) Flight Emulators
- Visits to other Units and Sections that support operational Flying at HMAS Albatross including Air Traffic Control (453 SQN), Medical Centre and Boatswain’s Mate
