Your Opportunity This position would be joining Mission Australia's Miller Community Preschool, which is rated as an exceeding service. We provide an inclusive educational preschool program in a caring and supportive environment for children 3 years to school age. The program works with up to 40 children per day, with a minimum of 10 places available for children with disability, developmental delay or special needs and a 10 place Autism specific pre-school room. This role has a great work life balance, opening hours are 8:15-3:45pm with a paid lunch break, operating in school terms.
  • Support children aged 3-5 in an inclusive, positive and supportive environment
  • Identify and respond to any child safety risks and/or report any incidents
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that a safe environment is maintained
  • Ensure that children’s health conditions are monitored (with parental instructions)
  • Assist in preparing, developing and implementing appropriate play based learning programs
  • Maintain direct responsibility for a single group of children and ensure their appropriate educational activities and constant supervision
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the centre by embracing new processes
Requirements for Success
  • A diploma or Cert 3 level early childhood qualification
  • Previous experience as an early learning Educator (desirable) and a passion for working in early learning
  • Drive to ensure that children are kept safe and supervised at all times
  • A positive team player who looks for ways to improve current work practices and processes
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Evidence of full Covid 19 vaccination
