Description:

The Natural Environment Program Officer provides high quality environmental advice to support decision making for statutory environment related assessments and for the management of public land in line with DEECA business and operational priorities. The role combines technical biodiversity related knowledge with well-developed problem-solving, collaboration and outcome-focused skills to minimise risk to Victoria's natural environment for communities, while supporting priority projects and programs in Victoria's regions. The role will provide environment portfolio case-management for funded Biodiversity projects, assist with managing biodiversity risks on the public land estate, and work with a range of stakeholders to build their capacity, including Traditional Owners and public authorities. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification related to natural resource management and or relevant experience.
  • Relevant knowledge and understanding of biodiversity in Gippsland and experience in biodiversity threat management
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 Months. The work location for this position is Traralgon with hybrid work arrangements available.
