Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Maintenance Planner is a key role providing an effective maintenance planning function, utilizing maintenance management systems (PRONTO & Microsoft Project) to plan and schedule Weekly & Shutdown Maintenance activities. The position is also responsible for the scheduling of weekly work for the mechanical & electrical, and site services maintenance teams, in accordance with procedures and using a collaborative approach.
This is a permanent position, on an 8/6 FIFO roster (days).
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety and Environmental
- Support procedures and work practices aimed at preventing accidents or injuries.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and follow-up on any issues raised.
People & Relationships
- Provide clear instructions to Maintenance Supervisors regarding job allocation, job details, work methods timeframes, allowing time for adequate feedback.
- Regularly liaise with Maintenance and Production Supervisors, as well as the Metallurgy Dept. detailing changing priorities and additional equipment to be repaired or modified.
Core Duties
Establish effective planning measures to ensure that breakdown maintenance is minimised:
- Develop mechanical, electrical & site services weekly work programs, including schedules and project plans / charting, to be executed by the Maintenance Supervisors that include planned maintenance tasks (overhauls, replacements, servicing), preventative maintenance (inspections, lubrication, condition monitoring) with allowance for urgent unplanned works.
- Maintain historical maintenance records for fixed plant equipment.
- Optimise planning efficiency through creation of standard work instructions for re-occurring maintenance activities.
- Conduct weekly schedule review meetings of work forward logs with key stakeholders to establish status, and to develop a work program for the following week.
ABOUT YOU
- Mining industry experience in the maintenance planning area.
- Experience with PRONTO, MS Project and Office.
- Excellent communication and Team focus.
