About the Role…

Become a valued member of the Burnside Hospital team and you will have the opportunity to work within our Perioperative Service and contribute to the hospital achieving our mission of providing safe, contemporary care for every patient, every time in current well-equipped facilities.

We have an opportunity for a CSSD Loan Kit Coordinator to work within our modern CSSD service. This vital position works in collaboration with the CSSD Coordinator, Clinical Manager, Clinical Nurse Coordinators and other members of the Perioperative team.

Under the supervision of the CSSD Co-ordinator you will be responsible for:

  • ensuring that all required loan kits have been booked and have arrived the day prior to surgery.
  • the receipt, tracking, preparation and dispatch of all loan kits and prosthetics used within Perioperative Services to ensure that all loan kits and prosthetics are tracked and all components are accounted for and returned complete to the respective company.
  • Working within a positive team environment that is fast paced and responsive to change;
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with AS/NZS 4187;
  • Understanding all aspects within the CSSD environment;
  • Maintaining full compliance within the CSSD department;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
  • Ability to use initiative and to be proactive within the CSSD.

This position works over a 5 day roster and hours are to be negotiated.

Essential skills & competencies:

    • Experience in a similar role within the CSSD setting is desirable
    • Has achieved Certificate III in Sterilisation Services
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with healthcare consumers in a professional and confident manner
    • Has an understanding of Perioperative terminology
    • Willingness to embrace and demonstrate the values of Burnside Hospital
    • Flexible and proactive approach to work with a willingness to learn
    • A commitment to continuous performance improvement
