About the Role

We are looking for a Director, Product who will be responsible for defining and executing the product strategy across the division, ensuring that product development practices and roadmaps are aligned to maximise productivity and growth. You will be working closely with your divisional Executive Director and Head of Product.

You will be leading a team of product specialists collaborating with leaders across functions such as Service, Support, Sales, Development and Central Functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans, budgets and coordinates the performance of the division's product team, to lead product development in line with divisional objectives.
  • Leads strategic planning and manages the portfolio of product roadmaps.
  • Lead R&D activities to refine products and ensure they are delivering commercial value.
  • Uses market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback analysis to identify product opportunities and validate product decisions.
  • Use industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and ensure the products maintain a competitive edge.
  • Builds, develops, and manage a high-performing product management team.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity within the product management function.
  • Supports Civica with evaluation, due diligence and integration of M&A businesses and products.


Ideally you will have

  • Significant experience of leading product management teams within a B2B software company.
  • Experience of overseeing divisional product strategies
  • Strong understanding and point of view on product management best practices, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Experience in managing complex teams including remote teams, providing leadership in an environment of ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly analytical and data driven decision making, comfortable in utilising metrics and tools to inform decision making.
  • Demonstrable organisational skills.
  • Planning capabilities, both strategic and responsive.
  • Demonstrable experience managing significant R&D budgets effectively to aid product development.
