About the role
As a Business Development Manager specialising in Mobile Patrols, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our Mobile Patrols business segment. You will identify new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and nurture client relationships to maximise revenue and market share within the Mobile Patrols Department.
The position also assumes responsibility for preparing and submitting tenders and accurate quotations to optimise success rate, focusing on market trends, budget guidelines and requirements of potential new clients. This entails collaborating with other business partners to offer well-informed guidance on how the work will be handled.

Key Du ties include:
Business Development
- Identifying, generating and maintaining new business opportunities to meet or exceed the company objectives.
- Develop close working relationships with new and existing clients, key stakeholders, and industry representatives.
- Develop close working relationships with colleagues to ensure effective interaction and operation of the role within the business.
- Advise operations about client service expectations and requirements to ensure that service delivery meets client expectations.
- Monitoring market trends and identifying security needs/opportunities across various industries.
- Working with the National Mobile Patrols team to provide state-specific input into growth strategies.
- Effective pipeline and quote management.
- Building strong lasting business relationships with clients.
- Develop and implement new business strategies to maximise sales success.
- Maintain a current knowledge and database of competitors, market penetration and business activities.
- Ensure achievement of budgets and targets, including the accurate and timely performance recording and reporting of results figures and other information as required.
Tenders
- Prepare commercially viable responses to Request for Tender & Request for Information documentation within your delegation.
- Provide advice and support at a state level to prepare Responses, quotations and other documents as required, participating in negotiations etc on an as-needed basis.
- Review new business with existing and potential new clients, and set action plans and agreed timelines.
- Prepare professional, accurate and informative visual presentations using electronic resources.
- Consult with state-based operations teams when preparing tender documents on matters regarding budgeting for staffing levels at proposed new sites or during re-tendering for existing sites.
Reporting
- Preparation and production of monthly and other reports as required.
- Schedule and liaise between key contributors to ensure compliance with Company and Client reporting standards, timeframes, and contract specifications.
- Review and development of Company standard formats for reporting.
- Maintenance of corporate standards for branding and visual/document preparation and production.
- Regularly report on industry developments and summary activities to senior management every month.

Skills and requirements
- Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- High-level administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or account management roles within the security services industry, preferably in mobile patrols.
- Strong understanding of mobile patrol operations, industry dynamics, and client needs.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities, develop actionable plans, and drive results.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant business tools.
- High level of negotiating and closing skills.
- Lateral thinker able to provide new approaches to a client solution.
- Intermediate computer literacy in programs such as MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook.
- Competency in written and verbal communication to a professional standard.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales roles.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and building a strong client portfolio.
- Experience in managing strategic partnerships and complex sales cycles is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant business discipline.
- Current Driver licence.
