Ensure kitchen team can prepare and cook menu items to recipe specifications
Ensure kitchen is set up and ready for service
Ensure dishes are plated to a high standard, in accordance with company expectations of presentation, speed, consistency, and quality
Assist with the training and supervision of staff in accordance with company goals
Manage and supervise stock control of communal spaces (cool room, dry stores, shed) using the first in first out system.
Adhere to and enforce strict health and hygiene standards
Ensure prep lists and ordering is maintained to ensure smooth running of kitchen
Assist with menu planning, trialing, costing and training in line with company expectations
Manage cleaning schedule
Ensure any staffing issues are resolved fairly and quickly
Ensure wastage is minimised by careful supervision of food preparation methods
Use all available communication and accountability resources as per instructions (Whattsapp and Restoke)
Work closely with FOH managers to maintain healthy relationship
General
Work well within the team environment as a contributing member
Develop & maintain effective relationships with the management team & employees at all levels across the business.
Participate in team meetings
Ensure conformance to all relevant company policies & procedures and relevant Acts & Legislation
Ensure adherence & obligation for a safe workplace in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2007
Undertake other duties as requested by the head chef or operations manager
Respond proactively to prevent negative customer service situations
Be punctual and focused
Create and maintain an efficient, friendly team environment
Qualification & ExperienceRelevant Diploma level qualification + 2 years relevant work experience.
Alternatively, 3 years relevant work experience may be considered in leiu of the above.
Locally owned and established restaurant selling pizza, pasta, salads, wings, ribs and loaded fries as well as a variety of drinks.
Salary: $65000-75000
