Description:
The Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s (JKWC) Operating Suite is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager for a permanent position, to join our busy and dynamic team. Based at the Sunshine precinct the JKWC Operating Suite comprises four operating rooms and one procedure room and provides care for patients in both the elective and emergency setting. The facility accommodates a range of day and multi day procedures from a number of surgical disciplines for adult and paediatric patients. Adult specialities include obstetrics and gynaecology services and paediatric services include plastics, ENT, orthopaedics and general surgery. The complex also comprises a Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) centre that provides care for surgical patients during the admission, recovery and discharge phase of their surgical journey.
To be Successful in this Role you
- Hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Possess a post graduate qualification or working towards same
- Are a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is committed to providing high quality, evidence based care.
- Must demonstrate expert perioperative knowledge and skills, assume a prominent management focus and model Western Health’s values
- Demonstrate effective management skills appropriate to the Associate Nurse Unit Manager role
