Description:

Mercy Health is seeking a passionate Catering & Housekeeping Manager for our brand-new home, Our Lady Mercy Place Harris Park. The home offers healthy ageing in the heart of Harris Park, with a focus on family, friendship and community, delivering on a long-held vision held by the Maronite Catholic Community to offer better living for people as they age. The role, reporting to the Service Manager will provide leadership and manage the catering, housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Manage the catering service, ensuring that the residents are provided with a variety of nutritious meals whilst maintaining health regulation compliancy
  • Manage the housekeeping and laundry services, ensuring that the residents receive efficient and effective services, with all the requirements met in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory standards

ABOUT YOU:
  • Relevant Qualification as a Chef or Cook are essential
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision and management of a large team
  • Working knowledge of OHS standards and food safety standards
  • Ability to operate in a busy team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Prior experience in preparation & cooking techniques for a large number of people
  • Experience in menu coordination including development of recipes tailored to an aged care environment
  • Experience in managing housekeeping and laundry functions

To be successful in this role you must be an experienced leader with a true passion for working in aged care. Establishing yourself as a respected leader, you will mentor others, provide hospitality related coaching and direction to staff; you will be a positive, proactive and highly organised individual with excellent communication skills. With your experience in a similar role, you will have a solid understanding of catering, housekeeping and laundry functions. You have a good grasp of financial and people management, supporting the overall strategic goals of the organisation.
