This is an exciting opportunity to join the team delivering and implementing the programs and services provided by Sport and Recreation that encourage and support Queenslanders to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle. Lead a team to achieve successful outcomes in the co-ordination and implementation of Sport and Recreation products and services.Sport and Recreation supports and encourages participation and success in sport and active recreation through delivery of grant funding for sport and active recreation organisations and clubs, infrastructure and participation programs, the operation of precincts and venues, and through engaging and partnering with the active industry across Queensland. Through this investment we want to improve the health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders by assisting them to be more active.
Service Delivery is responsible for engaging with key stakeholders, communities and clients to provide services to facilitate local and sector wide participation opportunities to contribute to healthy and connected communities. This will include a focus on low socio-economic locations, indigenous communities (rural and remote) and people who face barriers in accessing sport. This will be achieved by delivering a range of services including but not limited to informed and effective advice, high quality engagement, delivery of Sport and Recreation funding programs, including a priority of the identification of and provision of advice around potential infrastructure projects and by providing information on local and sector wide intelligence to support Departmental business.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment to this role you must possess:
Citizenship/Visa Requirements
You must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia. If you are not an Australian citizen you will need to provide evidence of your residency status or visa, with your right to work (including any conditions / restrictions). You are required to notify the department if your right to work in Australia ceases.
Licences
This role undertakes travel to city, regional and remote locations and requires a current driver's licence. You will need to provide a copy of your driver's licence prior to engagement.
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
This role provides education, coaching and/or support services to children and youngpeople and requires a valid Blue Card with the department. You will need to provide a copy of your blue card, which will be validated prior to engagement.
