Role: Senior Planner
Daily Rate: $700 - $800 + Super
Contract Length: Until 24 December 2024 (High chance of extension)
Location: Parramatta/Centennial Park/WFH
The Role:
Join our NSW Government client's team as a Senior Planner focused on Open Space Planning. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Open Space Planning to address strategic and statutory planning matters. Your responsibilities will include leading the project management of plans for Greater Sydney Parklands, ensuring compliance with relevant parkland Acts, and delivering detailed project briefs to support urban design initiatives. You'll also oversee consultant engagement, nurture positive relationships with stakeholders, and contribute to reports and submissions.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven expertise in strategic planning, particularly within the realm of open space
- Strong project management capabilities, including coordinating various consultant disciplines
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Ability to interpret legislation and environmental planning instruments to provide evidence-based advice
- Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team
- Understanding of governmental processes
- Background or familiarity with urban design is highly desirable
- Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Previous NSW Government experience
