The Opportunity

  • Manage projects through their complete lifecycle, leading conversations across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Full-time or part-time (35 or 28 hrs week), parental leave contract to March 2025
  • $138,171 - $146,613 + 17% super + leave loading

The Defence Trailblazer for Concept to Sovereign Capability is a $250 million enterprise powered by the University of New South Wales and the University of Adelaide, with funding from the Australian Government, the universities and industry partners to fast-track research to meet capability priorities for Defence and ensure the future workforce have the skills aligned to industry needs.

Reporting to and supporting Margaret Law, General Manager Technology Development and Commercialisation (based at University of Adelaide), you’ll assist with the development of agile and effective Theme and Project proposal, approval and reporting processes and supporting artefacts including project budget, Statement Of Work, proposal and reporting templates for use throughout the life of the Trailblazer.

You ‘ll also work closely and collaboratively with Partnership Managers, Business Development Managers and Research Contract Managers to enable research project establishment and management.

Who you are

You can demonstrate your project management skills and experience, including comprehensive understanding of project life cycles, budgeting and resource allocation. Experience managing the delivery of strategic projects, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills are a must, along with the capacity for proactive solution development.

You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective collaboration across organisations, as well as outstanding time management, adaptability, and responsiveness to shifting priorities.
