Quality Individual Support are looking for a Support Coordinator to join our Admin team! The role will begin with 1-2 days per week with the possiblity to increase.
Purpose
The Support Coordinator holds a crucial position in helping NDIS participants understand their NDIS plan, aiding them in setting up the supports outlined in the plan, and enhancing their ability to eventually coordinate and oversee their own supports.
Main Objective
Help NDIS participants:
- Implement their plan and enhance their ability to manage/control their own supports
- Increase opportunities to engage with their community and explore alternative support options
- Strengthen informal support networks
- Optimize the value they gain from their supports
- Utilize the NDIS Participant Portal myplace
- Efficiently communicate and uphold relationships with the NDIS
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills
- •Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style to meet people’s needs.
- Able to resolve conflict
- High level of numeracy and literacy
- Strong administrative skills; time management, coordination of tasks, efficient work practices
- Excellent computer literacy and confidence and capability in using systems and technology
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to build and maintain strong community connections and relationships with service providers, individuals and/or families/carers
- Ability to understand the NDIS Price Guide and flexibility within budgets, the NDIS legislation and rules including provisions relating to reasonable and necessary supports and the role of the mainstream service system
- Experience in a role within the NDIS
- Experience as a Support Coordinator is preferred, however, training can be provided for the right candidate
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: From $32.21 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
