About the role

  • To provide efficient pharmacy services that is aligned to organisational goals and legislative standards.
  • To contribute to patient care by undertaking advanced clinical support tasks under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • The Advanced Scope Pharmacy Assistant is recognised as part of the Pharmacy Assistant leadership team and works closely with other Advanced Scope Pharmacy Assistants and the Pharmacy Assistant Team Leaders to provide support to a large and diverse team.

  • Integrity – demonstrates sound decision quality, ensures accountability, demonstrates courage in the face of adversity and works effectively / manages complexity to ensure work output and decisions are ethical and invariably of a high standard
  • Demonstrated ability to apply advanced knowledge in allied health, including knowledge of the health care system, advanced computer literacy, medical terminology, general medical conditions and basic anatomy under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate, supervise and liaise effectively, with an understanding of the scope of practice in a complex and demanding work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan, perform and evaluate quality improvement activities under the guidance of a pharmacist and the Pharmacy Assistant Team Leader.
