The Opportunity
We're currently looking for a talented Design assistant to join the Sheridan team on a permanent full time basis.
Reporting to the Head designer, you'll be active in shaping the future of our brand within our design team across several categories including Home and lifestyle, you'll be responsible for development process and administrative support - everything from managing our PLM system, sample tracking, new season research, create colour palettes and work directly with our international sourcing partners. You will be influencing the brands' design direction and product concepts, all the way through to production handover.
This is an exciting opportunity to grow within Sheridan's design team. Being comfortable working autonomously is key, but you'll also have the chance to enjoy collaborating with the broader, highly creative team.

Key responsibilities

  • Staying connected to relevant current and future research, trends, and innovations.
  • Assisting and supporting the Head Designers in the creation and execution of future concepts and product ranges
  • Assisting and maintaining all admin for design and development
Including creation and management of designs in the Product Lifestyle Management (PLM) system

  • Collaborating and developing strong relationships with cross functional teams to prepare quality presentations and sales tools for internal range showings.
  • Managing all development samples and deadlines.
  • Assisting with creating technical drawings and specification packs for costing and amendments for final production
  • Use creative forecast services, magazines, colour authorities, websites and market analysis to assist in providing information for trend directions, story boards and project work
  • Work with our international sourcing partners based in Pakistan, India and China, Turkey and Portugal.

What's needed for success?

  • A degree in fashion design or similar
  • An innovative and creative approach to design
  • Proven track record in similar design assistant/administrative role
  • Experience across either Fashion, home or lifestyle product
  • Inspirational team player and collaboration capability
  • Strong presentation skills are key, as you'll be articulating your ideas and ranges to internal teams
  • Knowledge of fabrications and trims
  • Intermediate level experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Excel
  • Previous exposure to Product Lifestyle Management system (PLM) - preferred
