APG Workforce have partnered with our client who are leaders in the manufacturing of quality poultry products.
Based in the beautiful city of Tamworth NSW we are currently seeking a Machine Operator for our rendering plant.
The position is primarily responsible for achieving maximum productivity and ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe manner.
The position is also responsible for the management of the waste water ponds. Candidates must be comfortable working around dirty, smelly & dusty environments.
Critical Skills and Experience Required
- Knowledge of, or formal qualification in, rendering processes
- Recognises the importance of meeting customer specifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent planning skills particularly in relation to control of a small workforce and control of product flow through a daily production process
- Well developed problem solving skills related to quality issues with the ability to arrive at and implement long term preventative actions
- Commitment to process improvements
- Forklift License
- A background in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OH&S and HACCP procedures
- Experience in production and maintenance management of a manufacturing plant and in rendering processes
- Intermediate boiler licence
- Mechanical aptitude
- Computer skills
- Quick response time
- Good time keeping with a history of reliability
- Self-motivated and ability to show initiative
- Able to communicate at all levels (both written and verbal)
- Flexibility in working hours (Tuesday – Saturday, 7am – 3pm)
