About the role
This position forms a key component of the Progress Rail Service team and the position will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, warranty and ongoing technical support of locomotives.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist tradesperson with machine overhauls, rewinds and repairs
- Clean, buff and paint components and parts
- Operate machinery, as require, in order to perform tasks, where qualified and licensed.
- Perform manual tasks as required, including safe working duties.
- Undertake, as instructed by your Team Leader, other tasks which may be incidental & peripheral to your trades assistant role
- Workshop housekeeping tasks, ensuring a clean and safe work environment Commitment to a Zero Harm workplace that promotes an excellent team work attitude
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a non-trade position
- Forklift ticket (Highly desirable)
