UGL currently have an opportunity for experienced Mechanical Fitters – Bogies to join our rail division based in Bassendean, WA. The main purpose of this role is to perform Mechanical fitting related technical tasks to support the overhaul activities for rolling stock and associated sub-assemblies.About the role
- To perform trade related tasks such as overhaul, installation, fit out of mechanical equipment and acceptance testing on Bogies
- Have the competency to accurately measure Bogie Components
- Inspect and interpret drawings and specifications and determine method of manufacture and standards as required
- Cleaning of Bogies parts when required
- Ensure active involvement in Lean practices
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safety environment
- Australian Fitter Trade qualification is highly desirable
- Locomotive overhaul experience
- Strong communication skills. Both oral and written
- Previous work experience in the rail industry is desirable
- Desirable but not essential to have forklift license
- Desirable but not essential to have crane dogging/operations tickets
- Full Australian Working Rights
