ABOUT US: Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd educates over 2,200 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and serves young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, in which the principles of operation (Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal) are embedded. As a part of the broader EREA family, the organisation is shaped by the four touchstones of the EREA Charter: Gospel Spirituality, Inclusive Community, Liberating Education, and Justice and Solidarity. EREA Flexible Schools Ltd is a new organisation, having formally come into effect on 1 January 2023. As such, 2023 is a time of transition and establishment, with a need for the development of new teams, structures, processes and systems. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Middle Leader Young People Wellbeing (MLYPW) is responsible for to lead the school’s operational approach to Young People Wellbeing and acts under the direction of Head of Campus. The role of the Middle Leader – Young People Wellbeing is pivotal in fostering an environment that prioritizes the wellbeing of young people within the Noosa Flexible School. This position is integral to the school's operational approach to young people's wellbeing, ensuring a supportive and nurturing learning environment. This position is fixed term, full time, commencing 15 April 2024 or as soon as can be negotiated and will conclude 4 December 2025. KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE: Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition. Current and valid Blue Card or the ability to obtain. Current and valid Queensland Driver’s License Proven senior leadership experience, both strategic and operational, characterised by strong organisational, administrative, communication, and leadership skills, particularly in relation to areas outlined in this position. Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure. Appropriate qualifications in social work, psychology or other young people mental health type qualifications, and relevant professional experience, preferably in a flexible school’s environment.
