As the Associate Director for Institutional Communications, you will lead strategic communication programs for the Transaction Banking and Institutional Australia business units within Institutional. You will work closely with the Head Communication and will support the business in the delivery of their strategic objectives. You will communicate strategic initiatives to a range of stakeholders and will help to build a culture that supports ANZ's values and behaviours, continuous learning, and Speak Up aspirations.

Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 / 242 Pitt Street Sydney NSW 2000

Role Type: 12-month Fixed Term Contract, Full-time

What will your day look like

In a typical day or week, your work will include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic communications plans supporting the Transaction Banking and Institutional Australia's team's business objectives.
  • Advising leadership teams on effective and appropriate communication strategies to engage audiences.
  • Working with senior leaders to develop effective communication programs that support open, two-way, and transparent communication, aimed at building trust and a common understanding of the team's objectives and values.
  • Developing communication plans and materials supporting strategic initiatives, including organisation restructures.
  • Creating, editing, and reviewing communication materials to be distributed broadly within the business.
  • Supporting divisional communication programs and channels, including major events, conferences, publications and social media.
  • Work collaboratively with team members from across the organisation to develop and deliver best-in-class proactive and reactive communication campaigns supporting strategic initiatives.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience working with and supporting C-suite leaders.
  • Experience in Communication strategy development (coupled with experience in developing communication strategies for a range of audiences).
  • The ability to synthesise and extract valuable insights and opportunities from data and information collected.
  • Professional writing experience.
  • Strong oral communication and influencing skills, able to effectively convey information and persuade others to change their minds or behaviours.
  • Proficiency in storytelling - contextualising insights for decisions makers and partners by crafting persuasive, factual and focused stories that combine data, visuals, and narrative to communicate insights.
  • Ability to actively listen, seek feedback, and incorporate feedback into solutions put forward.
  • Bachelor level qualifications in Journalism, Professional Communication, Public Relations, or relevant Arts discipline.
