Permanent part-time Student Support Officer

Position Overview The Student Support Officer (0.6 FTE) plays a crucial role in providing administrative support for my client's Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs. You will coordinate various administrative functions, ensuring smooth operations and student progression. As a key point of contact within the Department, you’ll provide essential information and advice to students, foster stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the overall success of our programs.
Key Responsibilities As a Student Support Officer, your responsibilities will include:
Administrative Support:

  • Collaborate with the VET team to manage administrative processes and procedures.
  • Ensure efficient teaching and learning support operations.
  • Maintain a high standard of client service.

Student File Management:
  • Create and maintain student files in accordance with ASQA Compliance Guidelines.
  • Conduct accurate audits of student files upon completion and cancellation.

Problem Resolution:
  • Address administrative issues that may hinder effective student progression.
  • Facilitate certification processes.

Quality Compliance:
  • Apply a rigorous compliance approach to all tasks.

Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of programs, course delivery, and progression.
  • Utilise CRM and LMS systems effectively.

Student Communication:
  • Interact with students to address concerns and provide assistance.
  • Handle correspondence, mail merges, and VET email distribution.
  • Assist with enrolments, amendments, completions, and fee-related matters.

Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience in administration or education (desirable).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with compliance guidelines and administrative processes.
  • Proficiency in using CRM and LMS systems.
  • Experience within the higher education sector
