We are seeking an experienced Site-based Commissioning Manager to oversee the commissioning phase of a major project in Western Australia where you will deliver a key renewable expansion project within the mining sector.
Our client holds a leading position in the Australian market as the sole provider offering a comprehensive range of renewable energy technologies. Their expertise lies in integration of solar, wind, battery energy storage, and green hydrogen solutions into both new and existing energy systems.
The Role

The first month will be spent in the office learning and understanding the project and then you will move on to a fixed 2:1 roster providing exceptional earning capacity and overall OTE.
  • Develop and implement commissioning strategies and plans for renewable expansion of the energy project.
  • Manage a team of electrical and mechanical trades, providing guidance, support, and direct hands-on involvement (on the tools where necessary) and technical expertise throughout the commissioning process.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely and successful commissioning activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential issues, and develop contingency plans to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to facilitate a smooth transition from commissioning to commercial operation.
  • Monitor commissioning progress and provide regular updates to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Electrical Trade qualified or Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Electrical, mechanical, or related field),
  • Advanced degree or certification in project management or renewable energy is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in commissioning roles within the Mining sector
  • Power station experience is essential, with a strong understanding of commissioning process, equipment, and systems.
  • Renewable energy experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, quality documents, codes and regulations related to commissioning, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Strong understanding of ITP (Inspection Test Plan) & ITR (Inspection Test Record).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and drive project success in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
