The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced person for the role of Manager Health Safety & Wellness.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage the development and implementation of the PTA occupational health, safety and wellness service and be responsible for policy formation, compliance auditing and program delivery as a component of a wider health, safety and wellness system.

This position works closely with the PTA Rail Safety Manager and Divisional Safety Managers, to minimize risk and support compliance with statutory and other requirements and is the central coordination point for medical and psychological management matters in the PTA.

About you

The successful candidate will have highly developed leadership and project management skills, including a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in a large, multidisciplinary organisation and lead and encourage organisational and cultural change.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety, Health Management, or related discipline.
  • A Health Practitioner satisfying the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and related Board.
  • Extensive experience in Work Health and Safety, Health Management or Health Care with extensive knowledge and experience in managing health, safety and wellbeing programs and strategies and inherent associated risks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the trends in the development and implementation of contemporary health, safety, wellbeing and injury management services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to drive behaviour-based safety in an environment requiring 24/7 safety culture at all levels.

There is currently one (1) full time permanent position available for immediate appointment. Initially this selection process will be used to fill the above vacancy, but it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the agency within the next twelve (12) months on a permanent or fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
