A new opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Field Engineer to join Bechtel’s Energy team on the Pluto Train 2 project, based in Karratha, Western Australia. About the Role:As the Mechanical Field Engineer, you will interpret mechanical design drawings, codes and specifications, equipment installation, and field verification of materials.You will perform constructability reviews and coordinate design issues relating to the mechanical discipline such as mechanical equipment installation, maintenance, and testing.Your duties will include:review material receiving reports and perform material receiving inspections.ensure that design documents, drawings and vendor manuals are on site prior to the receipt of the equipment.issue Field Material Requisitions (FMRs) for purchase of permanent plant materials.responsible for mechanical quantity take-off, control, verification and reporting installed quantities.assist project controls and supervision in the establishment of detailed work plans to support the project schedule.perform other duties as required. What You Bring:have working knowledge of mechanical operations.familiar with internationally accepted mechanical codes and standards (e.g. – Australian Codes and Standards, ASME)degree in a relevant engineering discipline is desired but may be waived if equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated.3-5 years minimum construction/field engineering experienceDirect Hire Experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment.Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Infoworks or Aconex, BPS or DSCS, PTR or Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects. Additional Information:This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
