We have every expectation that this contract will renew for 2025 and Majarlin staff will be offered a new contract for the next funding cycle. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTMajarlin Kimberley Centre for Remote Health (Majarlin) is a Commonwealth-funded University Department of Rural Health (UDRH). The departments central office is based on the University’s Broome campus but has satellite operations in Kununurra and Derby. Majarlin is an academic institute within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery and Health Sciences whose aim is to contribute to the development of a capable and culturally responsive Kimberley health workforce through inspiration, education, innovation, and research. To achieve this, Majarlin facilitates the delivery of high-quality Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health clinical placements, education, and professional support and engages in collaborative research to progress the rural health evidence base. ABOUT THE ROLE The Administration Officer will engage in a wide variety of administrative duties in the areas of teaching, learning and research. This role will also provide quality support to the Program Manager and Administration Coordinator in the effective management and operation of the department. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide administrative support including reception duties, asset management, event planning, and supporting meetings (minutes, agenda papers and scheduling);Provide excellent customer service to students and University stakeholders;Complete tasks and communications in an accurate and timely manner, whilst liaising closely with other areas of the organisation;Ensure the dissemination of specific and accurate advice while maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and compliance;Interpret and apply policies, practices and standards under general direction to organise and prioritise work, while using judgment to solve problems arising in own work area;Gain an understanding of university matters and contribute to the improvement of service delivery across the wider University;Work accurately with detailed information; including data entry, maintaining spreadsheets and collating data for reporting;Provide financial support to the Administration Coordinator by processing payments, internal payment requests, business credit cards, purchase orders and invoicing.Maintain facilities, office equipment and supplies, including running occasional errands;Perform other responsibilities, commensurate with the expectations of a role at this level. ABOUT YOU Essential Criteria:Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University;Based in Broome or able to relocate to Broome, as housing and relocation are not provided.Completion of a diploma level qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;Demonstrated administrative experience, preferably in tertiary or other education sectors;Able to perform under general direction, with a demonstrated ability to exercise initiative as appropriate and work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities to meet deadlines;Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) including the ability to work productively and cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.Proven record of preparing high quality documentation with excellent accuracy and attention to detail;General understanding of office administration systems and competency in various software packages including the Microsoft Office Suite to contribute to the effective operation of team objectives;Demonstrated knowledge, or ability to acquire knowledge of departmental procedures to provide advice or effectively carrying out a broad range of administrative duties.
