Tell me more...In this role, you will support the three maternity services across Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service by working collaboratively with the Director of Midwifery, the facility based medical officers, midwifery, and maternity teams, and the Cairns based maternity teams providing outreach to support the maternity service.

Professional and personal qualities TCHHS are looking for;

  • Competence and capability in primary rural medical practice (particularly hospital-based practice and/or primary health) and in the relevant advanced skill(s) of Obstetrics (DRANZCOG Advanced).
  • Demonstrated skill in trauma management, general and emergency medicine.
  • High level of communication skills in clinical practice and corporate functions.

Requirements for the role:

  • Hold registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medial Board of Australia.
