MHDA Statement of Intention
The intention of the NSLHD MHDA is to provide recovery-oriented, trauma informed services that are guided by evidence based practices and collaboration.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the mental health multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality patient care outcomes. Provide evidence based nursing care commensurate with own skills and competence within a multidisciplinary supportive team environment. Support other and less experienced staff to ensure safe practice within adopted models of care. Work within the Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses and the Australian Nursing Council Inc (ANCI) Code of Ethics Australia. Be accountable for the clinical practice, continual reflective professional development and performance review.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Current mental health, drug and alcohol clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
