About the role
As a Community Support Worker, you will play an essential role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live a life of their choosing and be respected and valued within their community. You will provide a range of community services to assist clients to be actively involved in their local community, engaged in meaningful opportunities and build relationships. This role can be demanding and challenging but overall rewarding, as you positively impact the lives of the people you support.
We have casual positions available for the successful candidate.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting clients to live an active lifestyle and participate in their community through the delivery of a range of person-centred programs
Work to behaviour support plans by utilising positive behaviour strategies
Assist and support clients with personal and hygiene care
Maintenance of progress notes and record-keeping
About you
Similar to our clients, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. This role is fulfilling but can be tough, requiring someone resilient both physically and emotionally. We’re after people that have a good heart, with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of people with disability and have similar values to ours. However, it does help if you have:
Flexibility to work multiple shifts a day including, early mornings, late nights, weekends and public holidays
Ability to support others with personal and hygiene care – and happy for this to be part of your job
Current Australian drivers licence
Current First Aid and CPR certificate
NSW Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude while acting with integrity, honesty and respect
