Description:
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for-
Month end reporting
- Communicate month end timelines across finance including system rollover and ledger close dates
- Assist with posting all journals and other tasks to complete month end reporting in a timely manner
- Prepare cashflow report and cashflow forecast for inclusion in the FIIC/Board pack
- Complete BA reviews for relevant areas and liaise with managers to discuss monthly performance
- Prepare balance sheet summary and ratio analysis for inclusion in reporting packs
- Participate in monthly review meetings to analyse the month end result
- Assist with completion of all ledger reconciliations and follow up adjustments as required to clear outstanding items
Year end reporting
- Assist with completion of all year end tasks and workpapers to finalise the ledger with supporting reconciliations
- Contribute to preparation of draft financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, including year end adjustments as required, in readiness for the year end audit
- Act as point of contact between the auditors and finance team to collate, submit and resolve audit requests and any other audit related requests
- Assist with completion of funding acquittals requiring submission to government agencies and other consortia, including liaison with the relevant staff and departmental contacts to obtain the financial and non-financial information required
Cashflow monitoring and forecasting
- Monitor cash receipts and payments on a weekly basis
- Forecast receipts and payments on a rolling 12 months basis and advise any risks of cash shortfalls so additional funding can be procured
- Invest any surplus cash in a suitable interest bearing account
- Ensure adequate cash is held in the main bank account to meet payroll and creditor payments
- Act as back-up point of contact for all banking needs, including form completion, new accounts, new signatories, and other administrative tasks
Requirements:
The Financial Accountant will meet the following criteria-
- CA/CPA Qualified or studying towards qualification
- Solid understanding of accounting systems and processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop working relationships with key stakeholders and external parties
- Strong organisational and process improvement skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with a range of people and manage workloads across teams to ensure tasks are completed within agreed time frames
Conditions:
The organisation is offering circa $95,000- $105,000 base + super + Non-profit salary packaging. The company offer flexible working and their offices are located in the CBD.
