This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team in an emerging business at Amazon. Amazon is seeking a motivated Transportation Middle Mile Manager who will work across the organization to determine the needs, goals, and execution plans to create a world class middle mile logistics network in Australia. This leader will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think strategically (while paying careful attention to detail), and enjoy working in an ever-growing, progressive and data-intensive operations environment. The ideal candidate will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable supporting both daily operational activities and large, complex and cross-functional projects. This person will have a curious mind-set, solid analytical abilities, as well as superior written and verbal communication skills.

Key job responsibilities
- Help develop Australia Transportation’s middle-mile function, strategic vision and implementing that vision into reality.
- Help run the local PUD (pickup and delivery) network for the trucks in Australia.
- Oversee and improve all aspects of middle mile transportation carrier management including but not limited to operations excellence, performance management, escalations, and contract negotiations.
- Identify, analyze, review and coordinate network improvement initiatives for existing and new logistics solutions with cross-functional stakeholders optimizing for capacity, quality, speed and cost over the long term.
- Generate and review relevant and actionable transportation metrics, encouraging improvements and automation over time.
- Prepare and coordinate operations calls, business reviews, and customer service workshops as needed.
- Coordinate and communicate transportation planning and forecasts with carriers to ensure sufficient capacity.


About the team
AU ATS (Amazon Transportation Services) team is a part of AU Delivery Services which manages the transportation of the packages and inventory for the Amazon Australia Network.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Brisbane, QLD, AUS | Melbourne, VIC, AUS | Sydney, NSW, AUS

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- 5+ years of professional supply chain and logistics, operations research, or e-commerce experience.
- Ability to prepare, report and interpret large sets of data.
- Great communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Solid inter-personal and relationship-building skills.
- Good organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously- • Linehaul management and experience in CoR (Chain of Responsibility)
- • Master’s degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, operations research, or business analytics field
