About the role

EIC Activities is now looking across Australia for an Associate Principal or Senior Engineer / Senior Designer to join our Civil Engineering team based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. As part of the team you will provide a competitive advantage for profitable projects that generate value for clients, leverage the CIMIC Group’s collective experience, technical capabilities and leading technologies.

This position will work and support the delivery of Civil Engineering services that provide value to the CIMIC Group. This position will deliver specialist civil engineering assignments, identify and promote high value solutions across tenders and projects, as well as coordinate Civil Engineering engagements.

Our leaders are trained to direct, guide and coach teams to perform at their best. As an Associate Principal or Senior Engineer / Senior Designer you’ll guide in the Civil Engineering team, while encouraging employees to achieve quality outcomes.

In this role you will:

  • Manage and deliver Civil Engineering design services across a range of projects and infrastructure types, including traditional transport infrastructure projects (road, rail, aviation, tunnels, active transport) and the Renewable Systems Technology sector
  • Identify efficient and cost-effective design and construction solutions through Value Engineering reviews
  • Recommend and develop design methods, specifications and performance or functional requirements for tenders and projects
  • Oversee all tasks on projects where nominated as a Project Manager, including leading effective client engagement, managing budgets and resources, completion of case studies, as well as collection and sharing of knowledge and technical solutions from bids and projects
  • Influence and support continuous improvement through high performance, innovation and accountability

About you

You will inspire your team to achieve, draw on their diverse skills and create environments where great ideas are heard, and everyone looks out for one another.

Ideally you will have the following:

  • Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Engineers Australia Chartership and State professional registrations (or equivalent depending on qualifications) are desirable prior but should be acquired within 12 to 24 months if successful
  • 7-15 years’ experience in the engineering consulting or construction industry
  • Exposure to multi-discipline engineering design and construction delivery
  • Experience in design management on major civil infrastructure D&C tenders and projects
  • Excellent engineering skills in civil engineering discipline, specifically in relation to civil infrastructure design, road geometric design, rail geometric design, construction staging and temporary traffic management.
  • Proficient in the use of industry standard terrain modelling and civil engineering software (e.g. 12d Model and/or Autodesk Civil 3D) and other compatible technologies.
