This role will provide an introduction to working in Logistics at AWS and we will provide in-depth training through our onboarding process. Logistics Specialists are responsible for the administration of the onsite parts room and the custody of computer hardware from arrival through to departure. You will work closely with Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to support our customers while adhering to our operational tenants of safety, security and availability.


Key job responsibilities
- Maintaining inventory to ensure that proper stock levels are managed to support build and repair activities.
- Physically receiving and issuing out of parts as needed for internal customers.
- Loading, unloading and transporting parts between different sites.
- Keeping accurate stock records for all items within our care through physical cycle counts.
- Maintaining the safety, organization, and cleanliness of all workspaces using Amazon 7S principles
The role may require the successful candidate to travel to other sites in the in the Melbourne metro area up to 3 – 4 times per week to assist in conducting cycle counts, receiving stock into the inventory control system, replenishing stock and returning defective stock. Travel between sites will require own transport, all travel related costs will be reimbursed.

Physical / Environmental Demands:

- Loading and unloading shipments.
- Standing, sitting, and walking (including stairs) for prolonged periods of time.
- Willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and kneel.
- Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.
- Push or pull heavy objects of up to 16kg into position and participate in group lifts of 20kg or more.
- Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
- Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
- Work in an office and warehouse environment where the noise level is low to moderate.

A day in the life
Your day will be spent carrying out Logistical support functions for our Data Centers. This will involve physical control and processing of spare parts transactions, consumables stock replenishment, and cycle counting of stock. The role will require some travel between sites to successfully complete tasks. Own transport to travel between sites will be required, all fuel costs will be reimbursed. You may be required to go into the Data Center after hours and over weekends on some occasions.

Requirements:

- Current Victorian driver’s license.
- Ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of the role.
- APICS / TAFE warehousing / inventory accreditation or related experience.
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment and using computer based inventory control systems.
- Experience handling sensitive items.
- Working Platform/Forklift license.
- Commitment to a culture of safety, positive work attitude, leadership skills.
- Attention to detail, good transactional skill sets and ability to adhere to processes.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
