Hard Metals Australia manufactures products for the construction, agricultural, drilling and mining industries. Our products are best described as cutting edge interface tools connecting machines to their projects. Historically our main revenues have come from working closely with industry leaders. We are now transitioning through a structured sales and marketing program to build our direct sales. The business has been in place for 42 years and has subsidiaries in Canada and the USA. The successful candidate will be part of a small and dedicated team of professionals and will play an integral part in this new product and market development program.

Qualifications & experience

  • Hold a suitable trade or tertiary qualification in an engineering based discipline.
  • Be an active team player with good strategic and constructive thinking skills.
  • Possess superior time management and organisational skills.
  • Place a high emphasis on interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Possess good technical and analytical skills.
  • Possess strong commercial skills for constructing sales deals.
  • Have the self discipline to work productively without supervision.
  • Have and/or willing to develop above average skills in Microsoft 365 Office Suite.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Develop new business within the Civil, Mining, Quarrying and Industrial Sectors for our range of wear parts, solutions and services.
  • Nurture and build existing and new client relationships through the promotion of our extensive range of products and capabilities.
  • Maintain correct and up to date account information in our ERP software.
  • Report to the sales manager new sales opportunities and scope for expanding business prospects as they arise.
