About us

Angels on Duty is a registered NDIS disability service provider offering support in daily activities, community participation and short-term and medium-term accommodation for our participants.

We are currently looking for passionate and experienced Disability Support Workers to support our valued participants in the following areas: North Brisbane and Bay side (Capalaba, etc).

If you are just starting in this field and looking for an opportunity to develop your skills, we are happy to provide you with the support and continuous training and development to be successful in this field.

Selection Criteria

  • Disability Worker Screening (QLD)
  • Working with Children Check (QLD).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or equivalent (not mandatory)
  • Current Driver's License and comprehensive car insurance, plus own reliable transport
  • Experience and ability to develop a positive relationship with participants and support their Individual Support Plan.
  • Ability to maintain participant’s confidentiality and privacy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work active overnight, sleepover, morning shifts and broken shifts.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Provide direct quality support to participants in line with their support needs, the program they are accessing, and all support plans including the service users Individual Plan.
  • Hoisting and mobility transfers.
  • Assistance in bowel management | Peg feeding | stoma care.
  • Ability to navigate daily life and home care assistance for participants with highly complex needs.
  • Be a direct source of companionship and reliability.
  • Personal grooming including showering, toileting and personal care.
  • Household tasks, and development of their capacities.
  • Community support - going for shopping, engage in physical outdoor activities, and other social interests.
  • You are adaptable to the different needs, environments, experiences, and cultural backgrounds of our Participants.
  • Create case notes of the shifts to improve our services to participants.
  • Establish professional rapport and collaborate effectively with participants and families to reach their personal and NDIS goals.
