Coorong District Council is one of the largest and most diverse in South Australia. Spread over 8,832 square kilometres we are perfectly located one hour from the Adelaide CBD via the South Eastern Freeway and offer an escape to open spaces, river, beaches and national parks.
We are seeking for a dedicated and experienced Shift Patrol Grader to join our Roads & Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our road network, ensuring smother operations of road maintenance activities.
About you:
- Proven experience in Grader operations and road maintenance
- Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver licence and relevant licences for plant and equipment
- Drive a positive culture within the team
- Maintenance and minor repairs plant and machinery
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
About the position:
- Work three days a week, with each shift consisting of 12 hours, potentially including some travel time.
- Operate grader equipment efficiently and safely to maintain Council’s roads
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Comply with Work Health Safety (WHS) and Injury Management (IM) requirements and report incidents and hazards in the workplace to ensure a safe working environment for self and others
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate work activities
