We deliver services within the Southwest and Warren-Blackwood regions and our head office is located in Busselton. About the role: Mental Health Recovery Support Worker Mental Health (Bunbury and Busselton)

Lamp Inc. is currently seeking passionate, skilled, and experienced mental health support workers, to work within the Bunbury region. Providing supports to individuals with a primary Mental Health diagnosis accessing funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), the suitable candidate would be able to provide support through a recovery orientated framework including:

  • Providing support in day-to-day living, ensuring that they have maximum opportunity for developing valued and valuing lifestyles.
  • Providing opportunities for choice and control and participation in matters relating to the home, as well as facilitating access to community services and facilities.
  • Promoting and assisting in the creation of positive routines /duties/activities in a person centered and capacity building approach, which are meaningful and purposeful to the participant.
  • Facilitate community inclusion and participation to establish and maintain relationship and interests through access to community activities, venues and services.
  • Develop mental health and wellbeing management strategies with participants, developing their capacity.

 

Selection Criteria

The suitable candidate must be able to demonstrate or demonstrate how they’re working toward the below.

Essential:

  • A minimum of cert IV in Mental Health, or other equivalent Mental Health qualification, or demonstration of working towards
  • Experience in case/support planning
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of risk assessments.
  • A demonstrated understanding of boundaries (personal and professional)
  • A demonstrated understanding of self-care
  • An understanding of recovery orientated practice
  • An understanding of trauma informed practice 
  • The ability to work within a flexible rostering system

Desirable:

  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Senior First Aid
  • Previous experience in working within a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency approach.
  • Lived experience with mental health challenges or supporting someone with a mental health challenge.

 

You must have full working rights within Australia and possess/be willing to obtain before commencement:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance ($145)
  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Driver’s License
