Flight Training Adelaide Queensland (FTAQ) is one of the leading Registered Organisations in aviation training in the southern hemisphere.  We provide world class aviation training solutions. 

FTAQ specialises in delivering to the highest standard, ab-initio pilot training for the airline industry. FTAQ has a long term contract to provide pilot training for the QANTAS pilot training academy. We have a modern and well-equipped campus, just outside the rural city of Toowoomba in South Queensland. The current flying fleet comprises of Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft.

About the role

FTAQ has an opening for outstanding Full Time Qualified Tradesperson who has a genuine love of aviation to join our Wellcamp Engineering Team. 

Be a tradesperson at FTAQ ensuring our aircraft are kept in peak working order, you’ll work with Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft to maintain, diagnose, and repair systems, equipment, and components while working in a highly functional, clean hangar. 

Being an experienced light vehicle or heavy vehicle mechanic with trade qualifications already, you will have the hand skills required to thrive. Extensive on-the-job aviation mechanical training will be provided and a requirement of the role would be for you to work towards a Certificate IV in Aeroskills with a view to progress to a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer qualification.

Qualifications and experience

Essential

• Good sound mechanical knowledge
• Light vehicle or heavy vehicle maintenance background desired including holding relevant current trade qualifications in a mechanical field.
• Willingness and interest in expanding training progress to a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer qualification as a condition of employment
• Proficiency in engine maintenance
• Hold a valid Driver’s License
• Hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or be able to obtain one
• Ability to work unsupervised

Pre-Employment assessment:

• Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing
• Australia National Police/Criminal History Check
