Wizard Pharmacy is looking for a meticulous and detail-orientated Dispensary Technician who can also assist in the production of Dose Administration Aids to join our team at Wizard Pharmacy Strathalbyn.

The Role 

Culture is a key part of the Wizard Brand, we aim to inspire a culture of success, and as a Dispensary Technician at Wizard, you will be supported in your journey to assist the pharmacist in effectively managing the DAA packs, building patient and interprofessional relationships as well as developing core skills in communication, inventory management and teamwork. 

The hourly rate for this role is $27-$32/hour based on previous experience. 

The role will require a minimum of 30 hours/week and a full time position will be considered

Previous Pharmacy experience is essential, however dispensary experience is preferred but not essential. Hours are flexible across the pharmacy's opening hours including some weekend and public holiday hours. The successful candidate will be working with cutting edge dispensary and packing automations to complete their tasks. The role will involve local delivery to Aged Care Facilities and community patients. 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead the preparation and packing of DAA’s in a timely manner within the pharmacy environment, focusing on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the dispensary team in all dispensary processes including dispensing of prescriptions, maintenance of patient records and inventory management to deliver effective operation of the dispensary under Pharmacist supervision to the standards set by The Pharmacy Board of Australia, The Pharmacy Guild and QCPP.
  • Support and deliver interprofessional collaboration between the pharmacy and other health professionals as required for the best outcome of patients
  • Promote Traditional and complimentary health products and services
  • Support team in all brand initiatives such as our Wizard Rewards program and affiliates. 
  • Be part of a positive culture and workplace environment
  • Provide continuous support across the entire pharmacy including dispensary, over-the counter medicines, nutrition and retail areas as required
  • Engage with patients to deliver a consistent excellence level experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours

  • DAA Packing and dispensing experience essential
  • Certificate II or III in community pharmacy is desirable.
  • Committed to ongoing personal and professional development
  • Ability to address patient needs with sensitivity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Ability to work in a high volume and fast paced environment
  • Able to remain calm in high pressure situations
  • Strong ability to problem solve
  • Retail experience is advantageous
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Current Australian Drivers License
