About the Role 

Availability to work weekend and sleepover shifts are a must as part of the role.

We are looking for resilient and reliable Therapeutic Youth Support Workers to join out team located in Baulkham Hills NSW. Be rewarded in contributing to empowering our young people offering consistent, holistic support for individuals to build their capacity and achieve their goals. In this role you will be working directly with young people living with complex trauma, and psycho-social challenges. 

You are a mature mentor and great listener with a dedication to ensure young people feel heard, valued and empowered. With a passion to provide unique, individual support to achieve aspirations and goals, you enjoy building therapeutic relationships and being a part of the journey with those in your care. Your approach is focused on respect, dignity and care.

With help and supervision being required for young people, flexibility across a 24/7 roster will ensure adequate coverage for their needs.

This is strictly a smoke free work zone due to working with young people.

Our service delivery covers children, young people and adults in the Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Western and Hunter regions.

Skills and experience

  • Qualifications - Must have or working towards a relevant Diploma or Degree.
  • Experience in out of home care, child protection services, NDIS, psychology or allied health services.
  • Experience working directly with children / young people and families with complex support needs and disabilities, preferably in child protection or out of home care services.
  • Experience in positive behaviour support and functional assessment data collection, including completing incident reports, shift notes, QR codes and ABC data.
  • Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation, including the capacity to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Permanency Support Program and it’s aims and principles.
