About the role:


The Credit Risk Team Leader will be responsible for supporting a busy team of 6 Credit Risk Officers based at the Bunnings Store Support Rivervale office. This role will see you reporting directly to the Heavy Commercial Risk Manager. You will need to support the team to maintain KPI's in processing new Powerpass credit applications for both our Australian and New Zealand businesses whilst managing incoming calls and email requests from our customers, commercial account managers, trade specialists and stores. Many of these queries are around management of our existing customers accounts that require assistance with credit limit increases, account changes and application troubleshooting. You will be responsible for motivating the team to achieve their goals including assigning tasks and assist them to effectively manage their workload. You will also coach them to identify areas to improve and ensure all their responsibilities are successfully completed.

Full training will be provided so you succeed in the role.


What's involved:

  • Successfully leading the team in achieving all expected Risk duties
  • Provide support to the Credit Risk manager in areas such as rostering of team annual leave arrangement of commercial updates and team meetings
  • Processing new Powerpass Trade Credit Applications for AU & NZ
  • Interpret and assess online credit reports
  • Obtain additional documentation and security as required, including directors guarantees financials and customer background
  • Credit risk management of existing accounts of both Australia & New Zealand (Credit Limit Review process
  • Ensure management of all NZ and AU security registrations
  • Provide administration support by correctly distributing mail and registration of returned documentation
  • Provide phone and email support to our Internal and external stakeholders with a strong focus on support to our AU & NZ commercial teams
  • Respond to enquiries and escalations concerning applications and any other queries that arise
  • Maintenance of multiple high volume email inboxes

You'll need:

  • Previous leadership experience ideally within the Credit / Finance industry
  • Understanding of and ability to analyse Credit data for assessment purposes preferred.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and timeframes and know how to prioritize.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must be able to make a correct assessment decision confidently
  • Must be highly motivated, friendly, and approachable
  • Moderate - high computer skills with excel, outlook and Oracle experience preferred
  • Highly personable, punctual and efficient
  • Basic understanding of entity types, business structures and data sources preferred
  • Ability to effectively take on professional feedback.
  • Ability to goal set and motivate the wider team to achieve set goals
  • Be confident in conflict resolution while maintaining integrity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to multitask while keeping excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills are required
