About us

Own Body was created through a desire to help clients understand and maximise their own bodies’ potential in the comfort and convenience of their own space. We are a team of highly qualified and reliable Physiotherapists, OTs and Podiatrists working across metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Hobart, Launceston and Sydney, providing personable, high quality, affordable care to our valued clients.

We have been around for over 12 years and grown our team to over 70 clinicians in this time. Having always been mobile, we have the experience, processes, technology and support in place to ensure our team feel connected and have everything they need to focus on what's important.

We provide ongoing training and fortnightly mentoring and case study reviews as well as regular (optional) in person social and professional get togethers. 

The opportunity

Own Body is seeking a number of dedicated Physiotherapists to join our team on a part time/casual basis on a Monday and Friday in the Gisborne/Sunbury Area. These positions are exclusively clinical however there are plenty of opportunities for career progression within our growing company. 

You will be treating clients with a variety of conditions, including co-morbidities and:

• post-acute care
• post-surgical
• reconditioning
• rehabilitation

Our caseload commonly includes complex cases to really get you thinking, but we never ask our clinicians to take on clients outside of their clinical skill set. We are all about empowerment and exercise rehab, not passive manual therapies. 

Rates are based on experience and level of alignment and engagement with company values.

For permanent full time or part time team members - Salary is based on hourly rate, plus travel allowance, plus super, professional development allowance and opportunity to earn generous and achievable bonuses.

For clinicians interested in permanent full time roles, there is also the potential for a company car. 

For casual team members - Casual clinicians have the option to be paid sessionally or rostered for shifts and their remuneration is based on hourly rate, plus loading, plus travel/admin allowance, plus super.  

Tax benefits - working as a mobile clinician has several tax advantages vs working in other settings. You may be able to claim portions or running costs for your home office, capital purchases associated with your home office as well as claiming a portion of work related car expenses.

You'll also need:

• Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years experience
• Full registration with AHPRA (no interim certificates or limited registration please)
• Valid driver's licence
• Excellent communication skills
• Police Check (or willing to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
• Level 2 First Aid (or willing to obtain)
• Professional indemnity insurance (or willing to obtain)
• Flu vaccination (or willing to obtain)
• COVID-19 vaccination (or willing to obtain)

While it is our preference to hire from the local labour market, we will consider applicants with a current visa and will provide a pathway to permanent residency for the right applicant.  All visa applicants must be willing to undergo a VEVO check.
