Reporting to the Head of Engineering Landfill and Remediation Cleanaway, we are seeking an experienced landfill Project Manager who will play a pivotal role in the delivery of our large-scale land remediation project in Willawong scheduled for completion in 2026. Your expertise will oversee the successful project delivery landfill infrastructure, including landfill cells, landfill gas extraction systems, landfill capping, including stormwater and leachate management.

This is a permanent role, part of a strong supportive team, with a focus on safety and inclusion.

About the role:

  • Manage the project lifecycle of the Willawong remediation site working with senior management and engineers, contractors to maintain capital expenditure, budgets, schedules.
  • Implement effective project control techniques, including scheduling, earned value analysis, and risk management, to ensure project delivery aligns with requirements.
  • Ensure project compliance with regulatory standards and governance best practices, establishing and maintaining high standards for project execution.
  • Driving effective and efficient communication between project teams, and contract manager in reference to new/scope of work.
  • Establish and leverage cross-discipline relationships within the wider business group to facilitate cost control.

 

About you:

  • Demonstrated project delivery experience working on large scale landfill remediation or rehabilitation projects.
  • Proficiency in landfill management techniques, including gas extraction, surface water, and groundwater management.
  • Experience with bulk earthworks, containment, and/or geosynthetics is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven ability to scope, prioritise and plan national multiple engineering projects.
  • Experience with gated and milestone projects, variations, costs and managing risk including developing contingency allowances and contingency management, schedule management, framework standards, processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of WHS and risk management requirements for landfills or contaminated ground.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of our organisation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil,) essential.
