About the role 

We are seeking applications for an experienced, detail oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Bibra Lake, WA. 

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting and financial activities of the organisation, including financial reporting & compliance functions for multiple entities. 

This role has a focus on accountability, process improvement, and technical excellence with the opportunity to mentor and coach junior finance team members. 

Primary duties include: 

  • Assist in preparation & finalisation of source accounting transactional data (Trial Balance) & complete monthly management upload & reconciliation within COGNOS.
  • Complete all transactional & reporting matters relating to FX, fixed assets, capex & lease accounting.
  • Reconciliation of JF Group intercompany loan balances & transactions.
  • Cash flow management & reporting including assistance in group forecast submissions.
  • Review & lodge BAS return
  • Ensuring transactions are processed according to contractual requirements and reconcile transactions & end position.
  • Manage Debtors profile including collection follow ups, payment resolution, credit risk assessments & associated Group reporting.
  • Implement & document processes to ensure transactional compliance with Group procedures, legislative requirements, accounting standards and governance guidelines.
  • Delivery of the supporting data & documentation for the transactional requirements of the annual external Audit.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a Finance or Accounting Support role. Previous audit experience desirable 
  • Qualifications in Accounting (CA or CPA preferred)
  • Advanced time management, planning and organization skills to meet conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in tracking & understanding accounting transactions within ERP or financial systems and proficiency in MS Excel (intermediate level).
  • Ability to build strong networks internally and externally and interact at all levels of and across a range of functions.
