Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital

You will be responsible for a high standard of patient care to our oncology patients on our Thomas Furlong Ward.

Thomas Furlong is an oncology/haematology and palliative care ward that cares for patients at all stages from diagnosis, to complex treatment and acute admissions as well as end of life.

You will join a dedicated multidisciplinary team providing compassion care and expertise.

The Position

  • Commitment to organisation's service ethos through the provision of excellent service
  • Caregivers are required to act in accordance with the standards of behaviour outlined in the SJGHC Code of Conduct document.
  • Maintains and develops clinical skills in order to care for patients appropriate to level of competence.
  • Delivers a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively.
  • Adheres to and supports hospital policies, procedures and standards.
  • Acts as the patient's advocate and facilitate the rights of individuals.
  • Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate.
  • Participates in a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care through the continuum of care.
  • Prioritises workload using resources effectively.
  • Provides supervision to Enrolled Nurses, students and PCAs as required.

You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, a demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.

To succeed you will have the ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Registered Nurses with minimum 2 years clinical and chemotherapy administration is preferred with Antineoplastic Drug and Administration Course completed.

  • Salary: $74,748.53 - $98,362.97, plus 11% superannuation
  • Full-Time, Part-Time, Casual positions available, working across all shifts with hours negotiable
