The Role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Administrator to join the Commercial and Legal team at RJE. You will form a key commercial role for RJE including supporting RJE’s project management teams, pre-contracts department and senior management group. In this newly created role you will be responsible for contract management and providing commercial advice for ongoing projects. The role requires someone with strong commercial acumen, with the initiative to solve problems and streamline processes. To be successful in the role you will be a highly motivated individual with the ability to work autonomously, navigate complex contracts and engage a variety of internal stakeholders including engineers, project managers, general managers and procurement managers. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Working with the procurement team to develop bespoke supplier agreements aligning with upstream contractual requirements, including ‘back-to-back’ contracting risk. 
  • Facilitate commercial negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, including drafting and amending subcontracts. 
  • Assist the project management team draft commercial correspondence, including contractual letters, extension of time claims, variations and general commercial correspondence. 
  • Provide commercial advice to project managers on contract interpretation and general commercial support. 
  • Ensure compliance with upstream contractual requirements and ensuring subcontractor compliance.  
  • Provide comprehensive project status updates to senior management, maintaining accurate contract documentation and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. 

Required:

  • Experience – 3+ years as a Contracts Administrator or in a similar role in the construction industry. 
  • Demonstrated experience as a Contract Administrator managing claims, extension of time claims and notice of delays with meticulous attention to project timelines and milestones. 
  • Understanding of complex contractual frameworks and the ability to work autonomously to negotiate and draft subcontracts. 
  • Excellent attention to detail with concise comprehensive writing skills. 
  • Proven ability to manage a variety of tasks across multiple projects. 
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
