We’re looking for a supportive and enthusiastic Career Advocate to be part of the Training Alliance Group (TAG) team full-time.

About the Role

Our proven model provides a continuum of support for job seekers aged 15-24. TAG’s approach builds trust and sets expectations; our suite of assessments provide insight allowing targeted interventions.

As a Career Advocate you will work one-on-one with individuals to overcome barriers and develop their capacity. We will provide the training and support so you can successfully work with individuals, develop their skills, and identify employment opportunities and career paths. Core activities include:

  • Conducting one-on-one coaching. This person centred approach recognises a young person’s existing skills, defining them by their future aspiration.
  • Co-designing a young person’s career roadmap, agreeing on goals and timeframes to develop skills and gain meaningful employment.
  • Building relationships with community organisations and local stakeholders.
  • Engaging local employers to understand their needs.
  • Placing appropriately trained young people into known or advertised positions.
  • Using established employer networks to promote transferable & recently gained skillsets.

Applicants must be willing to work over all locations that we deliver Transition to Work in the Perth South region.

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have passion or experience in working with young people from a variety of different backgrounds.
  • Be a results driven and motivated individual with a high level of initiative – experience in sales, retail, or travel highly regarded.
  • Possess excellent administration and time management skills.
  • Satisfy a pre-employment check including a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check.

Experience in employment services is not essential, as our Quality and Development Team provide an extensive induction program  and ongoing support to ensure you are well supported in your new role.
